I have struggled with chronic pain since childhood. My first major injury was due to an act of mayhem in which I lost the sight in my right eye at eight years of age. At twelve my lower back was fractured in three places. Due to a life of violence and physical abuse I have sustained a number of major injuries to my body. I now struggle with chronic pain on a daily basis. In addition to several fused cervical vertebrae in my neck which resulted in ongoing pain, I have also been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, plantar fasciitis, and recently adhesive capsulitis in both shoulders.
Sometimes my pain is severe enough that I wonder if it is all worth it. Thoughts of suicide are common to individuals struggling with chronic pain. Because I really want to live, I need an outlet for my thoughts. That's where this blog come in. Hopefully it will help not only me, but others like me who struggle with ongoing, severe, and chronic pain.
